Located in beautiful downtown Coos Bay, and adjacent to one of the area's most scenic parks, Safe Harbor seeks to provide a safe harbor for those who have been tossed around by the storms of life. This one year residential program teaches program participants the skills and principles needed to live life free of addictions or emotional instabilities.
For those who need a period of time when their only focus in life is a focus on recovery, Safe Harbor furnishes that focus. Instead of the typical six week period of physically "drying out" followed by a return to the same stress and drug filled environment, residents of Safe Harbor will enjoy a one year period of time in which their needs are met, their bodies are refreshed, and their minds renewed. Instead of a simple physical "drying out", Safe Harbor involves residents in an intense learning process designed to stabilize runaway emotions, improve decision making and problem solving abilities, and give a person spiritual principles which will help them to create their own emotional and spiritual safe haven in the midst of any "storm."
In contrast to the $3000 to $4000 per month most "conventional" treatment programs charge, Safe Harbor offers housing, food, spiritual counseling, and positive spiritual teaching for much less. Participants may work in an outside job, if able, as long as the requirements of the Program are met. Also, instead of the 18% - 22% "success rate" that is claimed by most conventional programs, Stable and Free Emotionally, in it's 12 years of existence, has shown a success rate of at least 80%.
